Our Principal Kate Koschel
Kate started her accounting career at Hall Chadwick Chartered Accountants in Brisbane at the age of seventeen and spent five years there as a trainee accountant. The training and mentoring received here were to prove invaluable. An additional five years of accounting experience was received at Archer Gowland Chartered Accountants in Maroochydore.
During this ten year period Kate received extensive training and experience in the provision of Business Services (Accounting and Taxation Compliance) to a wide range of business industries and entities. Since stepping out from “behind the accountant’s desk” and out to the client’s work place, Kate believes her accounting skills have grown exponentially. She believes she is well suited to the profession because she is a very practical learner who likes to see:
- Systems being put into practice
- Accounts well balanced (“Square Up”), but above all,
- An accounting system working as it should, to the benefit of the client.
Patricia Ross
I’m Patricia Ross – usually called Tric and that’s pronounced “Trish” – the spelling is another story!
I joined Kate in 2005 and together we have continued the growth of Square Up Consulting. Kate is my hero and I’m her golden girl – we are definitely a mutual admiration society! While we started off expecting to both work in the same way in the business it became apparent that our individual skills would be better applied separately. So while I indulge my passion for reconciling bank statements by handling most of the bookkeeping clients Kate’s amazing forensic bookkeeping & accounting knowledge has her wowing our clients by handling most of the consulting and training.
For the 5 years “pre-Square Up Consulting” I was involved in the management of Retirement Villages and as a Retirement Village Accreditation Surveyor. Prior to that, I ran my own small business for 17 years. My core strengths are FFF. That stands for:
- F – Front desk (I love working with people).
- F – Figures (I’m passionate about bank account reconciliations).
- F – Filing (I actually love administration tasks).
Someone has to do the last 2 "F"s so you might as well use someone who loves it!
